Eine Gruppe von psychoanalytisch arbeitenden Therapeuten aus Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz hat ein Diagnose-Instrument entwickelt, das - aufbauend auf Erfahrung und Forschungsergebnissen - verständlich beschreiben soll, was seelische Krankheit ausmacht. Das Instrument heißt "Operationalisierte Psychodynamische Diagnostik", kurz OPD. Es soll jene Störungen beim Patienten identifizieren, die ihn seelisch krank machen.
