Elgg is a "learning landscape" system developed for LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) which encompasses weblogging, file storage, personal profiles, FOAF functionality and more. It has been designed for knowledge sharing within education.

• Elgg is an _electronic portfolio_, _weblog_ and social networking system, connecting learners and creating communities of learning. For more information on e-portfolios, see the ERADC weblog - or just sign up and experiment!
• Sign up for an account - it's completely free, and all you need is a valid email address.
• Create your own weblog, journal, store of files like photos and Word documents - as much or as little as you want!
• Share them with your friends, academic staff and other Elgg users. YOU decide who can see them!
